This Minox series presents work in the form of digital collages that are based on photos and experiments using a Minox C camera. The images, and especially the literally “light painted” structures resulting from the experiments with this camera and its miniature film, were scanned using a high-resolution scanner and then superimposed and compiled on the computer leading to these image compositions.

The trade journal "BirdWatching" tested the MINOX MD 50 W. The result is an excellent price/performance ratio as well as good image quality and solid construction design.

Wetzlar, September the 30th 2008. A spectacular highlight of the Photokina 2008 was the new digital MINOX spy camera. With its red and black colours and equipped in a rustic espionage workshop style, the MINOX booth magically attracted film and camera teams from all over the world. It was supported by attractive female agents going on stalking tours throughout the exhibition center. Their message: The extremely small spy camera with its analogue version, which advanced after over 70 years to a desired cultural object, is now also available in digital version. At www.license-to-shoot.com modern “MINOX agents” may now find an international forum for the direct and innovative world of images enabled by this tiny spy camera.

Spys love it: small, intelligent and very reliable. MINOX cameras have been the dream tool of undercover agents for almost 75 years. By way of homage to this genial inventor and engineer, MINOX launched a luxury special edition of their well known LX 8 x 11 subminiature camera, together with a very special silver coin to commemorate both Walter Zapp's 100th birthday as well as the 60th anniversary of MINOX as a company.  

MINOX presents the DMP-1, a pocket-sized digital photo album, MP3 player / recorder and FM radio in one tiny package.

The Minox DMP-1 weighs in at just 62 grams and fits into almost any pocket thanks to its compact dimensions of 75x52x15mm. The new prize, set to the 100th birthday of Walter Zapp, is to honour technical achievement and scientific research in the spirit of this great 20th century Latvian born inventor - father of, among many things, the MINOX 8x11mm "spy" camera. The prize, jointly awarded by the Latvian Academy of Science and the National Patent Office will be awarded every two years to Latvian researchers for their innovation and discoveries. Walter Zapp himself was honoured in 2001 by the Academy with the title of Doctor Honoris Causa.

A new service now available: A MINOX laboratory
(at Siegen, Germany) copies pixel by pixel onto traditional chemical film

The long term storage (archiving) of digital images is under discussion as nobody really knows just how long the current media will last. So to be sure that valuable digital images may still be seen by future generations, Carsten Chadt of the MINOX laboratory LAB811 at Siegen has added another service to his portfolio. His answer to archiving digital photos is to copy them on either traditional chemical 35mm negative or positive slide film – the proven answer to prevent data loss.

This year MINOX celebrates the 100th birthday of a unique inventor and founder of the company

A superb masterpiece of camera technology has been produced by MINOX GmbH in Wetzlar, Germany in memory of a true pioneer and famous designer who has made his mark in photographic history.

For over 60 years Minox cameras have been manufactured by this traditional company based in Mittelhessen, Germany In memory and in celebration of the MINOX inventor Walter Zapp: On Sunday 4 September 2005 the company management, employees and former friends, as well as the son of Mr Zapp and the managing committee of the 1st German MINOX Club met in Wetzlar, Germany to commemorate Walter Zapp´s 100th birthday and the 60th anniversary of MINOX GmbH.
